End of Life Services

It is never easy to see our beloved pet’s quality of life decline. We partner with you as you journey through this difficult time. Because quality of life is of utmost importance, we offer hospice and palliative care to help ease your pet’s discomfort. Whether providing medication to help ease pain, peaceful at-home euthanasia or just a friend to lean on, we take the time to make sure that your pet and family are comfortable and supported through this difficult time and beyond.

Palliative Care

Palliative care is defined as “the active total care of patients whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment. Control of pain is paramount. The goal of palliative care is achievement of the best quality of life for patients and their families.” Palliative care maximizes the pet’s quality of life while managing pain and discomfort. Providing palliative care treats the patient but not necessarily the disease. Examples of palliative care include appropriate pain medications, nutritional supplements and support devices.

Hospice Care

Pet’s are living longer thanks in part to advancements in medicine and early disease detection and to owners who continue to follow recommendations and look for ways to properly care for their pets as members of the family.

The bond between a pet and its family is undeniably strong and the loss of a pet can be emotionally devastating to family members. We are your partner in your pet’s care. Working to educate you about your options and form a plan to provide your pet with the best possible quality time as you prepare to say goodbye.

We will be by your side with emotional support as you make tough decisions. It is our mission not just to support your pet, but also you and your family at this difficult time. With the use of phone conferencing or in-person counseling, we are here to answer your questions and help educate you regarding your pet’s changing condition and needs. We will work together to constantly review and adjust your pet’s treatment plan for maximum effectiveness and benefit.

When the time comes for you to say good-bye, we will be there for you with compassion and understanding as we assist your pets passing with dignity; free of pain or anxiety.
